Ms. Lillie M. Faulkner

Lillie M. (Emmerson) Faulkner, 85, of Peoria, IL, peacefully passed away on August 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Lillie was born July 11, 1938, in Gunnison, MS to Everneal and Eliza (Moore) Emmerson. Lillie married E.B. Faulkner on October 22, 1968, in Bloomington, IL. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2006. Also, preceding her in death are her parents, three children, her grandmother; Lillie M. Clay, and three sisters; Clara M. Reed, Ernestine Harper, Delose Emmerson, niece; Jacqueline Harper, two stepsons; Darnell Pollard, Alvin Faulkner, one stepdaughter; Malinda Faulkner, two grandsons; Brian Faulkner and Antonio Faulkner. Lillie worked for OSF St. Francis in Housekeeping, retiring after over 40 years of service. Lillie was an active member of New Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Cleveland Thomas, where she was a dedicated member of the choir and serving on the Calendar Tea. She was the month of July Chairman for many years and other capacities within her church. Lillie was a very caring person. She enjoyed watching Family Feud, going on casino trips, spending time with her family and hanging out with her special friends. Lillie leaves to cherish her memories one sister: Queenie C. Parks of Peoria, IL; three grandsons; James Faulkner of Laporte, TX, Aaron Faulkner of Lawton, OK, and Marcellus Mc Dowell of Peoria, IL, all whom she helped raise. Her niece and caregiver, Sonya (LeRoy) Linwood Jr. of Peoria, IL, one nephew; Kenneth L. Emmerson of Peoria, IL, niece; Erica (Quincy) Trapp of Peoria, IL, great nieces; Chittaun (James) Walker, Danelle (Frederick) Sheard, Markeisha Harper, Ciara Parks all of Peoria, IL, four great nephews; Aubrae M. Harper, Jordan L. Linwood-Parks, Quentin J. Parks of Peoria, IL and Nicho’lous R. Parks of Denver, CO, two stepchildren: Larry (Rosaline) Hill, Sandra Robinson of Peoria, IL, goddaughter; Krishana Smith of Chicago, IL, brother-in-law Wardell (Willielean) Faulkner, sister-in-law Mary (Michael) Anderson-Farris and a host of other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Peoria, IL. Pastor Cleveland Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. The burial will be at Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria, IL. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel in Peoria, IL. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctor, and chaplain of Vitas Hospice Care for their acts of kindness, patience, and care with our loved one.
