Ms. Shelley Ann Hanson

Ms. Shelley Ann (Shellann) Hanson 60, of Peoria, IL departed this earthly life on September 6, 2021. She was born on May 15, 1961, in Peoria, IL to Henderson and Ruby Dell Allen Hanson. As a young child Shelley accepted Christ into her life and was a member of Star of Hope Full Gospel Church where she was active for many years. She recently joined The Glorious Church of Jesus Christ rededicating her life to God. Shelley loved to cook, dance, and do hair. She would tease her older sister Linda that she was better at all those things than Linda was. Shelley truly enjoyed being with family and friends as she was very social. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons. Orlando and Brandon Hanson both of Peoria, IL; three daughters: Brandy Hanson, Shataqua Poindexter, and Shaletta Hanson all of Peoria; four brothers: Booker T. Blakes of Minnesota, Terry L. Hanson of Texas, Napoleon Hanson, of Peoria and Tyrone Moore of Georgia; three sisters, Linda Blakes (Michael) Davis of GA, Rose Hanson Ellis, and Angela (Tamara) Rutherford. Grandchildren: Orlaisha Hanson-Wright, Davonte’ Hanson, Jada-Kris Smith, Mariah Hanson, Marieo Johnson Jr., Brandon Johnson, Orlando Hanson Jr., Harmahny Jones, Harvey Jones IV, Hakeem Jones, Kiyan Hanson, and Harmyjah Jones. One great-grandson Akachi Washington. and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A favorite cousin Gwendolyn Bennett and a special friend Brenda Sims. Shelley Ann was preceded in death by her parents Henderson and Ruby D. Allen Hanson, both sets of grandparents, three brothers: Eddie G, Iza Ray, and Bobby D. Blakes; and two sisters: Dorothy J. Blakes Dixon and Mary A. Hanson, and four grandchildren: Harvey Jones III, Katrice Robinson, Hailey Jones, and Heaven Jones. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Star of Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with visitation commencing one-hour prior at 9:00 a.m. Bishop Joseph Johnson will officiate and present the eulogy. Due to COVID -19 mandates masks are required. There will be livestreaming on T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel Facebook page. Acknowledgments and words of comfort can be received at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel. Shelley will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery.
