Mrs. Susie “Sue” M Nathan, 71, of Peoria, IL transitioned peacefully from this life to receive her glorious promotion and reward into her Heavenly home on March 10, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born January 14, 1953, in Peoria to Ada Jackson, who preceded her. Sue attended Peoria Manual High School. Sue accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1974 and served the Lord faithfully until her Heavenly Father whispered her name and called her home. Sue married her soulmate and the love of her life Howard Nathan Sr. on December 5, 1969, in Peoria, IL. They shared 56 years, 54 years united in holy matrimony, being the epitome of what love and marriage are about. Sue worked at Caterpillar Inc. for over thirty years. Sue devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren supporting them in every area of their lives, she loved spending time with family and friends and had a gift of making everyone feel special and loved, she also enjoyed watching her favorite television show Leave it to Beaver. Sue was a dedicated member of the Church of the Living God of Peoria, serving faithfully and diligently and greeting everyone with her infamous smile and warm embrace. Sue’s beautiful personality, warm and generous heart, motherly touch, love and legacy shall continue to flow freely and never become void through the lives of her loving and devoted husband Howard Nathan Sr of Peoria, IL; five daughters: Angennette, Roberta, Camisha, Stacey Nathan, and Tonya all of Peoria, IL; One son Charles Nathan Sr. of Peoria, IL; six brothers: Vice Chief Bishop Leroy (Salmena) Smith, Curtis Jackson of Fayetteville, NC, Ernest Jackson, James (Felicia) Alexander, all of Peoria, IL, Gregory Herron of Washington, IL, and Craig Bailey Sr. (brother in law); seven sisters: Linda Faye Randle of Creve Coeur, IL Lee Lee Williams, Elaine (Bobby) Jones of Romeoville, IL, Linda Jones, Chantay (Corey) Gray, Vickie(Randy) Wyatt, Angie Herron, of Peoria, IL, Goddaughter Towanna (Kim) Wyatt, Mother in Law Gertie Nathan of Peoria, IL; 9 grandchildren Jalen, Janae, Aaron, Aerial, Chayla, Mariah Tonea, Chara, Charles Jr., a host of great-grandchildren; one fur baby Snoop, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved and will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son: Howard Nathan Jr.; one grandson: Robert D. Nathan Sr. (whom she raised).; two brothers and two sisters. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sue Nathan will commence at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Church of the Living God with visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Elder Michael Williams will officiate, and Vice Chief Bishop Leroy Smith will bring the eulogy.
