Mr. Andre Eubanks

Andre Antoine Eubanks entered eternal rest on February 20, 2026. He was born on May 6, 1967, in New Orleans to the late Charlene Eubanks and the late Larry Swanigan. He was the eldest of five children and carried that role with strength, love, and quiet leadership. Andre was educated in the Orleans Parish School System and proudly attended George Washington Carver Senior High School in New Orleans. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who served faithfully in the healthcare field. Andre worked as a housekeeper at Carle Health Methodist Hospital and was formerly employed by OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center. His commitment to excellence and reliability made him respected among colleagues and supervisors alike. Andre was a spiritual man who believed in the power of faith and carried a quiet reverence for God in his own way. His spirituality grounded him and gave him strength throughout life’s challenges. He was also a devoted sports fan who passionately supported the LSU Tigers men’s basketball and the New York Giants. Whether watching a game or discussing team stats, he brought enthusiasm and loyalty to every season. He loved to travel and cherished opportunities to experience new places. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Andre relocated to Chicago and later made his home in Peoria, where he continued building his life with resilience and determination. Andre leaves to cherish his memory his sisters: Dedra Eubanks King of Tylertown, Mississippi; Moses Eubanks of Houston, Texas; Kimura Eubanks of New Orleans, Louisiana; and QueShonya Eubanks of Matteson, Illinois. He also leaves behind his beloved children: Rianda Sonethia Gatlin of Natchez, Mississippi; Terrence Smith of New Orleans, Louisiana; D’Angelo Maze of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Andre Eubanks Jr. of Marietta, Georgia. He was a proud grandfather to Harmony Anne Hill, Aurora Rankins, and Davoni Maze. Andre also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his love and memory. Andre will be remembered for his strength, work ethic, love for family, spiritual foundation, and unwavering spirit. Though he has transitioned from this earthly life, his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
