Ms. Annette Gordon

Annette Gordon, 77, of Peoria transitioned this life into God’s Heavenly gates on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Loft of Peoria Nursing Home. Annette was born on August 14, 1947, in Bourbon, MS to Johnnie and Eria (Kellum) White they precede her. Annette graduated from Nujent Center in Benoit, MS. She moved to Peoria in 1972. She married Fred L. Gordon in 1978. Annette was a devoted member of Star of Hope Full Gospel Church, under the direction of Bishop Joseph Johnson. She sang in the choir and was a prayer warrior. Annette worked for Lutheran Social Services for over 30 years. She had a passion for caring for children and took pride in being a foster parent. She enjoyed cooking, golden retrievers, and caring for her children. Annette is survived by five sons: James “Tim” (LaShauna) Gordon of Peoria, Tony Gordon of Los Angeles, CA, Bryan Murray of Streeter, IL, Demario Gordon, Rashad Gordon, both of Peoria; five daughters: Bridgette Gordon, Tamera Gordon, Tiara Gordon, Kimberly Gordon, and Armani Gordon all of Peoria; three brothers: Lonnie White Sr., Tommie White, Willie (Darlene) White all of Peoria; four sisters: Adottress Barnett of Peoria, Rose Dixon of West Palm Beach, FL, Hattie Barnett of Snellville, GA, and Betty White of Peoria, IL; four granddaughters: Jalissa (Alex) Welch, Ceja Gordon, Lelonni Gordon and Jenson Gordon all of Peoria; nine grandsons: Timarus Gordon, James Gordon Jr. aka Jimmy, Lashaun Gordon, Amari Gordon, Kaleb Gordon, Landon Gordon, Liam Gordon, Tony Gordon, and Kree Gordon; two great grandsons Timir Gordon and Alex Welch Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly. Annette in addition to her parents was preceded in death by six brothers: J.D. White, Leon White, Joe Nathen Scott, Chester White, Billy White, and Robert Kellum; six sisters; Mattie Scott, Carrie Scott, Julia Geraldine, Gloria Barnett, Dorothy Williams, and Myrtis White; late husband: Fred L. Gordon; her loving dogs: Chambers and Lady. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Star of Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church (417 W. Romeo B Garrett Ave Peoria, IL 61605) at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Joseph Johnson will present the eulogy. Annette will be laid to rest at Swan Lake cemetery.
