Mr. Billy Chaplin Sr.

Billy Joe Chaplin Sr, 55, was born on a winter day, February 5, 1969, in Goodman, Mississippi. He moved to Peoria, IL later in life. He passed away at home Saturday, August 31st, 2024, at 8:46 p.m. due to heart complications. Billy was born to Lillian Brown and Willie Chaplin. He graduated from Richwoods High School in 1987. He spent most of his life being a father, a companion, and a protector to his loved ones and anybody he considered family. He was devoted to Jackie Simpson for 37 years. Billy was a superhero to his children and grandchildren. He loved hard and his strength covered his whole family. His big personality, laughter and smile were infectious. He helped raise his seven children, Nikki Simpson, Jaqueline Chaplin, Farrah Morris, Joesette Chaplin, Autumn Chaplin, Billy Chaplin Jr & Billy Chaplin II all of Peoria IL. There was never a dull moment with Chap, he was a provider and a teacher. He was a man of wisdom, and he poured that into his children. Around him you knew you were safe. He helped everybody and was a heavy piece of foundation for his family. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many and will be missed eternally. To his immediate family, we don’t die because our love is Eternal. He will live through us, and we will lift his name. Lord Thank you and give us peace and comfort through this time. Lord provides your strength and wisdom. Guide his spirit under your wing and provide him with peace. May the sweet light of change shine in the darkness, May the first breath of each morning begin life again, May the memories unfold as prayers for life, May love continue to fill the silence. Amen Billy Chaplin Sr. is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline Simpson Chaplin; mother: Lillian Brown; five daughters: Nikki Simpson, Jacqueline Chaplin, Farrah Morris, Joesette Chaplin and Autumn Chaplin; one son: Billy Da’Boyd Chaplin II; a host of grandchildren; two brothers: Willie Chaplin II and David Chaplin; two sisters: Jackie Moore and Lillie Moore. Billy is preceded in death by his son Billy Chaplin Jr.; father: Willie J. Chaplin Sr.; brothers: Patrick Chaplin, Dale Chaplin, and McKinley Moore. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, September 16th, 2024, at Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church located at (1505 W. Martin Street Peoria, IL 61605) at 11:00a.m. with visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Alvin Riley Sr. will host and present the Eulogy.
