Clara R. Jordan

Clara R. Jordan, 85, of Peoria, IL went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017. She was born on November 25, 1931 to Hope White and Clara (Gray) Moody in Gillett, Arkansas. Clara married the love of her life and soulmate, Vance U. Jordan Sr. on February 13, 1951 in Pekin, IL. To this union 10 beautiful children were born. Clara was a picture of love and all who encountered her would soon know this to be true. She was employed at the Ramada Inn, OSF Medical Center and Methodist-Medical Center. She spent many years as a homemaker doing what she loved, caring for her family. Clara will be missed by many but most of all by her loving husband; Vance U. Jordan, Sr. her children which includes her favorite sons: Larry White, David U. (Donnette), Rev. Vance U. Jr. (Shari), Stevie M.(Tina), Jerry L. Sr. (Robin), Rev. Wayne H., Officer Patrick L. Sr. (Burnita), and Marcellus Jordan all of Peoria, IL. She also leaves one beautiful daughter, Vancie Rose Jordan also of Peoria, IL. From those beautiful children she has also gained 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren who loves her dearly. Also left to celebrate her life are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Tyrone Jordan and her siblings, Minnie Hollis, Mattie Jackson, Noah White, and Collon White. Clara loved listening to Gospel music, watching sports and spending time with her family. She had a great sense of humor and was always full of memories, which she enjoyed to tell of times past. Under the leadership of Bishop Joseph H. Johnson, Mrs. Jordan accepted Christ and became a member of Star of Hope Full Gospel Church in November of 1967. The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 18th at Star of Hope Full Gospel Church. Visitation will be at 9am with services beginning at 9:30am. Bishop Joseph H. Johnson will officiate with the eulogy being delivered by Rev. Vance Jordan Jr. Mrs. Jordan will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery and T.W.
