David Leigh Usher

David Leigh Usher, 50 years old, departed this life on February 16, 2020 at 10:35 pm at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. David was born May 27, 1969, in Peoria, IL to the late Hulen Usher Jr. and late Betty Ann Usher. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Lisa E. Usher, two loving sons, David L. Usher Jr. and Elijah S. Usher of Fredericksburg, VA, two brothers Mark A. Usher of Peoria, IL and Steven D. Usher of Lake Wales, FL. One inherited son Marcus L. Nelms, one inherited daughter, Charesse L. Nelms and two inherited grandsons Ameir and Antonio Walton all of Peoria, IL. Special aunts and uncles Leroy (Ernestine) Vinson of Peoria, IL, J.P. Usher of Atlanta, GA, Eddie Lee(Georjina) Usher of Decatur, GA; Melvin Usher, Juanita(Curtis)Bush, Offree Usher all of Griffin, GA, Phyllis Usher of Atlanta, GA, Barbara A. Vinson of Peoria, IL and Janice Harris of Stone Mountain, GA. Cousins Jeanette(Gerald)Stewart, Yvonne(Wayne) Fuller of Joliet, IL. Rita (Troy) Burns of West Peoria, IL and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. David accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Jeffery Ivory, Sr. at Grace Baptist church where he was an active member and participated in the music ministry; which included playing the drums and singing. David enjoyed spending time with his family and was known as the culinary Chef in the family. David enjoyed gardening and maintaining his yard and home with any necessary repair. He loved sports and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. David was a licensed barber with the state of Illinois and enjoyed cutting his family and friends hair. Prior to his illness David was a shuttle driver at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. David will always be remembered as a loving father and husband; and will be truly missed by his family and friends. Memorial services will be held, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church, 405 N. Richard Pryor Place, Peoria, IL; where the Rev. C.L. White, Jr., serves as Pastor. Visitation at 10:00 am and Memorial at 11:00 am. Repast immediately following services in the Oscar Penn Fellowship Hall at Grace Baptist. Written by the family with love.
