Mr. IT Taylor

IT Taylor, 100, of Peoria departed on Saturday, March 28, 2026, amongst his loving family. He was born October 28, 1925, in Gunnison, MS to James Taylor and Elizabeth (Gordon) Taylor. IT married the love of his life Elizabeth Taylor in 1942. IT devoted his life to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, supporting them in every area of their lives. IT loved spending time with Family and Friends. IT was a Dedicated member of Rising Sun Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board for over 30 years. Rev. John Gibson resided as his Pastor. He was a Veteran of World War II. IT was a laidback, smooth and generous, type of “Guy”. He was “The Ladie’s Man”. IT leaves to cherish his memories two sons: Anthony Gibb of Germany and Cornelius Howard of Peoria; nine daughters: Annette (Tommie) Albert of Peoria, Michelle Mayfield of Natchez, MS, Barbara Howard, Martha Moore, Williet Walton, Lula Wadlington of Peoria, Laverne Howard of Ohio, Sherri Howard, and Dorothy Howard both of Peoria; Special grandsons: Harry Wadlington (Vatonya Terrell), D’OMonte Proctor, and Deondra Proctor; special granddaughters: Gina Mitchell (Marvin) Hearn and Carmicka Wadlington. A special “thank you” to Gary Moore who was his in-home caretaker; two brothers: Mack Taylor and Jesse Taylor; one sister: Wilma Taylor; A special nephew: Kevin (Annette) Taylor of Peoria; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. IT was preceded in death by his wife, one son, four daughters, two brothers and one sister. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026, at Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church (1505 W. Martin Street Peoria, IL 61605) at 11:00 a.m. with visitation commencing an hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Alvin Riley will Officiate. Army Honors will be presented following Service. Arrangements were made especially for the “Taylor” family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
