Mr. Kelvin L. Bennett

Kelvin Lamar Bennett, 55, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 13, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on October 27, 1969, in Peoria, IL, to the late Claude Bennett Sr. and Milzella Bennett. Kelvin was a fun-loving family-oriented man he was a loving son, brother, father, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He grew up in Peoria and was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and his ability to bring laughter wherever he went. His ability to tell jokes brought happiness to many. He enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends in his spare time. Kelvin was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Sr. and Milzella Bennett; his grandparents Ollie and LouAgnes Blake, one sister Rosezella (shortee) Gibson; two brothers Charles Bennett and Claude Bennett Jr. Kelvin leaves to cherish his precious memory eight daughters — Ashanti Bennett of Dallas GA, Tasha Lyons of Peoria, IL ,Mercedes Burks of Harvey, IL, Joy Woods, Alexis Woods, Aleisha Woods of O’Fallon, MO, Shamiya Pace of Oxford, MS and Treasure Bennett of Springfield, IL; two sons — Darius Burks of Peoria, IL, and Darren Russell of Dyersburg, TN; eight sisters — Mary Bennett, Alzenna “Susie” (Michael P.) Bennett, Velma (Floyd) Pitts, and Brenda Bennett, all of Springfield, IL; Ora “Peaches” Bennett-Waithe, Margaret Bennett, Barbara (Sam) Bennett-Risby, and Gwendolyn Purnell, all of Peoria, IL. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends who loved and will miss him dearly. Kelvin’s memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know him. A Celebration of life Service will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025, at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel (201 N. Mac Arthur Hwy Peoria, IL 61605) at 11:00 a.m. with visitation commencing one hour prior. Bishop Terry Holley will present the Eulogy.
