Mrs. Margaret Dunigan

Mrs. Margaret Virginia Dunigan, 82, of Peoria, IL, transitioned to her heavenly home at 3pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at her home. Margaret was born June 1, 1939, in Mound City, IL to Jessie James and Julia Brock who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life Pastor Edgar Dunigan Sr. in 1955, the culmination of 67 years of love and devotion. Margaret was an amazing woman of God. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and First Lady to her family, church family, and community. For over 40 years she was the First Lady of Love and Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Towards the end of her life, she became a member of Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the motherboard. After 20 years of employment, she retired from Methodist Medical Center where she was employed as a CNA. Margaret had a special place in her heart for the babies in pediatrics. She loved people and got along with everyone. Margaret loved to dance and sing. One of her favorite songs was “Two Wings.” She had a million-dollar smile that could light up any room. Margaret leaves to cherish her most precious memories with her loving and devoted husband, Pastor Edgar Dunigan Sr. of Peoria, IL. Fourteen children, Eddie Dunigan Sr, Ronald Dunigan, Eric (Sonia) Dunigan Sr, Pastor Terrence (Jashawnda) Dunigan Sr, Lee Dunigan, and Marquis Brown, all of Peoria, IL, Darrell (Kimberly) Dunigan Sr, Robert Dunigan both of Chicago, IL, Edgar (Mary) Dunigan Jr of Indianapolis, IN, Cheryl (Steve Ellis) Dunigan, Margaret Ann Fortune, Rhonda Dunigan, Michelle (Koatha) Drain, and Tina Dunigan, all of Peoria, IL. Three sisters, Alice Haley, Lula Daily, both of Chicago, IL, and Elizabeth Davis of Indianapolis, IN. She also leaves her remembrances to host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Harvey Brock Sr, Jessie Brock Jr, and Finas Brock Sr. Four sisters; Hattie Graham, Georgette Watson, Cora Humprey, and Mary Adams. Three children; Rose Marie Dunigan, Cora Hogan, and John Dunigan. Four grandchildren; Taneka Davis, Latreeka Dunigan, Terrence Dunigan Jr, and Benny Green Jr. A home-going celebration will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church with visitation commencing one hour prior at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Alvin Riley will officiate. Interment will be in Springdale Cemetery. Online condolences and acknowledgments will be made at twparkschapel.com.
