Mr. Martarius J.T. McGee "Marty"

Martarius J.T. McGee “Marty” of Peoria, IL departed this life on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Marty was born on February 25, 1997, to Margeanes McGee and the late Brenda Wallace. Marty was the sixth of nine children, who gave his life to the lord at a very young age. He was brought up in a loving Christian home, where he gained his love for music, especially the drums going on to play for his church choir. Marty was a member of the “Traveling Five “at the age of nine. He also traveled with and played for many well-known gospel groups around Peoria, including his grandmother Dorothy Wallace. He was the biggest “jokester” in the family. He didn’t mind letting it be known to any and everyone who cared to know, that he was the favorite grandchild! Marty’s love for music and fashion lead him to create the clothing brand “Ever 7asting” Marty leaves to cherish his precious memory his father: Margeanes McGee; five brothers: Cameron (Bridgin) Wallace, James Reed Jr, Jawaun Reed, Marsiah McGee, and Titus McGee-Leonard; two sisters: Jaylin Reed and Jaryha Reed; Paternal Grandparents: Tommy and Martha Leonard; Maternal Grandmother: Dorothy Wallace; God mother: Sharon Judon; God Grandmother: Chantay “Red” (Cory) Gray; two special uncles: Thomas Leonard and Dorsey Doss; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, musician family, and friends who will miss him dearly. Marty was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Wallace; one sister: Jimeka Reed; Paternal grandfather; James Osbourne; one nephew: Christopher Wallace. You are loved and you are truly missed, we will always remember you and keep your legacy alive. Rest on soldier, you may take your rest now. “Well done good and faithful servant”! A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Church of the Living God the Light House (2815 W. lake Street Peoria, IL 61615) at 3:00 p.m. with a Live Musical Visitation at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Michael Campbell with host and officiate, Pastor Edward Jackson Jr. will present the Eulogy. Arrangements were made especially for the “McGee” family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
