Mr. Maulana A. Waller Sr.

Mr. Maulana Ali Waller Sr., 53, of Peoria departed this life on February 11, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Maulana was born May 4, 1971, in Peoria to Henry Waller and Hazel Williams. He graduated from Manual High School in 1989. He furthered his education at Westmar University. He received his CNA license from Illinois Central College and became his sister Angie caregiver. Maulana affectionately known as Skanie had a love for music; he had notebooks full of raps. He enjoyed reading books of all genres. He also loved to cook and tell jokes. He played a vital role in his nieces and nephews lives always telling them the truth and keeping it real he was willing to give tough love. He loved and accepted Christ at an early age. He came from a big family that he loved and protected. Maulana leaves to cherish pops and mother dear Elder Micheal and Hazel Williams; two sons: Sean Perry and Maulana Ali Waller Jr.; one daughter: J’Khyra Waller; three brothers: Otto Waller, Aaron Waller, and Terence Young; five sisters: Erika Waller, Corine (Kerry) Walker, Tamika Williams, Towanna (Kim) Wyatt, and Micah (Larry) Davis; a precious uncle Eddie (Kay) Ellis Jr.; special aunts and uncles: Vinnie Bey, Henrietta Williams, Evelyn (James) Pierce, Georgia Common-Stevenson, Josephine Davis, Ernestine Brock, Bernice Robinson, Betty Williams, Michelle (Barney) Carter, Shirley Williams, Willie (Helen) March, Lepear (Linda) Smith, Vernon Smith, Ronnie (Lisa) Williams, Haywood (Shirette) Perry; three special cousins: Ronnie Common, Alan Smith, and Marvin Jordan Sr.; four best friends: David Webster, Darrell Jackson, Darnell Clark, and Corey King; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, one brother Henry Waller Jr.; two sisters: Angela Waller, and Twila Waller and all his grandparents. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Sovereign Grace M.B.C. at 11:00 a.m. with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Alvin Riley Sr. Pastor will present the Eulogy. Maulana will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery.
