Mr. Oldfield "Barney" W. Allen Jr.

Oldfield W. Allen Jr., 81, of Peoria, IL., passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. Born on October 1, 1944, in Peoria, IL. to Oldfield W. Sr. and Dolly Allen. He will be remembered for his qualities—such as generosity, humor, wisdom, and for the joy he found in spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and car racing. His presence brought warmth to everyone who knew him, and his legacy will live on through the values he instilled in his loved ones. He was the proud owner of Barney’s Auto Service in Peoria, IL for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Christopher L. (Jamie) Allen, sister Marilyn Allen, brother Marvin (Francis) Allen, and Ken Hardy Jr. whom he helped raised. Barney leaves to cherish his precious memories: Velma J. Allen the mother of his children of Peoria, IL, sons: Brian L. Allen, Anthony Allen, and Irving D. Allen all of Peoria, IL, Siblings: Kathryn (Rev Arthur) Dyes-Peoria, IL; Arthur Allen-Peoria, IL; Charles (Kayia) Allen-Peoria, IL; Ivaonn Allen-Peoria, IL ; Harvey Allen-St. Louis, Mo; Lance (Glenda) Allen-Peoria, IL ; Lucille Dowtin, Peoria, IL; Andre (Sharon) Allen, Peoria, IL ; Wendell (Renada) Allen, Peoria, IL; Grandchildren: Anthony “AJ” Allen, Olivia Allen, Peyton Allen, Amya Allen, Evin Washington, Cameron Pistole: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. Visitation will be held Wednesday December 3, 2025, from 5pm-8pm at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church (711 E. Arcadia Ave Peoria, IL). Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church (711 E. Arcadia Ave.) at 11:00 a.m. with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Simon Holly Jr. Pastor with delivery the eulogy.
