Mrs. Pearl Brewer

Pearl Brewer, 88, departed this life surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at her residence. Pearl was born on May 21, 1937, in Oktaha, OK, to the late Charlie and Roberta (Jones) Derrick. Pearl dedicated over 37 years of service to Caterpillar Inc., where she worked as an Inspector Auditor before retiring. She was known for her strong work ethic, her love for her family, and the many lives she touched throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Pearl leaves to cherish her precious memory: her five sons, Ernest Brewer Jr. of Bolingbrook, IL, Floyd Brewer of Denver, CO, Jerry (Allison) Brewer of Peoria, IL, Guy Brewer of Peoria, IL, and Gary (Rochelle) Brewer of Chicago, IL; and her five daughters, Janice Tamplin, Mary Brewer, Eleanor (Tracy) Jones, and Beatrice Wissmiller, all of Peoria, IL, and Genene Brewer of Steger, IL. She is further survived by her sister, Lois Rush of Muskogee, OK; her brother, MacAuthur Derrick of Joplin, MO; 19 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 56 years, Ernest Brewer Sr.; her son, Joseph Brewer; her daughter, Glenda Fluellen; six brothers, Leo Derrick, Bonnie Derrick, Atchielee Derrick, John Derrick, L.C. Derrick, and George Derrick; and two sisters, Mattie Diles and Ellora Lyons. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel (201 N. MacArthur Hwy, Peoria, IL 61605) at 10:00 a.m. visitation will commence one hour prior at 9:00 a.m. Rev. James Fleming will deliver the eulogy. Pearl will be laid to rest at The Historic Springdale Cemetery. Arrangements were made especially for the “Brewer” family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
