Mr. Robert Carter Sr.

Our beloved Robert was born December 6, 1965, in Inverness, MS. He was the twelfth of seventeen children born to Lula B. and Cleotha Carter. Robert attended schools within the sunflower county in Mississippi. Robert was truly THE LIFE OF THE PARTY and let his presence be known wherever he went. His jovial laugh, attempt to make others do what "He Wanted" will be missed by all that loved him. On April 7, 2026, the angel of the Lord took a flight to take our loving father, grandfather, brother, friend home. Robert Earl Carter, 60, departed this life at his home in Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents Cleotha and Lula B(Henley) Carter. 5 brothers Roy Lee Henley, Otha Lee Carter, Cleotha Carter, Ozie Carter, Larry Henley. 2 sisters Earnestine Henley and Rosie Oliver. 1 grandson Dequwan Nichols and a host of nieces and nephews. Robert leaves to cherish his sweet memories: his children Demrice Nichols of Peoria, IL, Andrew Nichols of Indianapolis, IN, Jennifer Nichols of Peoria, IL, Robert Carter of Peoria, IL, DeAndre Nichols of Indianapolis, IN, Regina Nichols of Indianapolis, IN, Robert Carter Jr, Patrick Carter, Kenquell Carter, and Quartey Benning all of Peoria, IL. 7 sisters: Linda(Levell) Simmons of Greenville, MS, Vera Carter-Anderson, Mary Carter-Perkins both of Indianapolis, IN, Barbara (Anthony) Clay of Indianola, MS, Shirley (Darold) Gordon of San Antonio, TX, Jacqueline(Joe) Kent of Moorhead, MS, Patricia Carter of Indiandola, MS. 7 brothers Cornelius(Patricia) Henley of Greenville, MS, Willie James Carter of Indianapolis, IN, Clifton(Cynthia) Carter of Chicago, IL, Freddie Carter of Indianola, MS, Charlie(Kimberley)Carter of Stuttgart, AR, John(LaTisha) Carter of Peoria, IL, Christopher Carter of Southaven, MS. 22 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends who will all miss him dearly. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Grace Apostolic Assembly (1523 S. Laramie Peoria, IL 61605) at 10:00 a.m. with a family and friends gathering at 9:30 a.m. S/B Emeritus James Ware will present the eulogy. Cremation Rites Accorded. Arrangements were made especially for the “Carter” family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
