Mrs. Sally Pearl Howard

Mrs. Sally P. (Lowery) Howard, 92, of Peoria, IL, entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1933, to Walter and Bertha Lowery in Ruleville, Mississippi. She married Wilbert Howard on October 4, 1979, in Peoria. Sally lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service to others. She worked at St. Francis Hospital in surgery as a surgical tech for many years and worked as a dental assistant. Over the years she served her church as a pianist and loved being a Sunday School Teacher. She was the proud matriarch of her family – a second mother, counselor, prayer warrior, and best friend. Sally had a heart as big as her faith. She prayed for her loved ones daily and never missed a moment to remind them how loved they were. She introduced her family to church life early on – and planted seeds of faith that will grow for generations. Known for her kindness, wisdom, and sincerity, Sally’s compassion touched everyone who met her. She also had a feisty spirit that kept her family and friends smiling and on their toes. She took great pride in her granddaughters and her “big guy” (great- great grandson) and she celebrated every accomplishment of her grandchildren. Sally was proceeded in death by her parents and husband. Sally leaves to cherish her most precious memory; one son: Steven Hopson; granddaughters: Shannon Taylor, Jade Malone, and Jacobi Howard; great grandchildren: Raven Taylor, Darah Taylor, Layla Taylor, and Aurie Maxison; great - great grandchild: Jason Bennett III; and a host of relatives and friends. Sally’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her prayers a covering that will remain with her family forever. A Celebration of Sallys Life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Higher Dimension Praise and Worship Church at 11:00, with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Marvin Hightower will present the Eulogy. Sally will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery. Arrangements were made especially for the “Howard” family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
