Ms. Sharon D. Harris

Sharon D. Harris, 50, departed this life on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born on April 13, 1973, in Osceola, AR to Elbert Nickerson Sr. and Brenda Jones. She was a graduate of Richwoods High School and went on to receive her C.N.A license in 2004 where she was employed with Sharon Elms Nursing Home. Sharon was an incredibly happy, caring, fun, family oriented, sentimental lady; but do not make her mad, because she would tell you “Don’t play with me!” She used her wisdom to uplift others, especially the youth, to get through difficult situations. She was a diva that loved to sing Karaoke, her favorite song was by Mary J. Blige, "Gotta Believe." Sharon had a contagious smile, who loved her wigs, lashes, and nail polish. Sharon was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed. Sharon leaves to cherish her precious memory: Mother: Brenda Jones of Peoria; five sons: Monterius Hinkle, Deonta Moore, Devonta Harris, Ma’Kin Harris, and De’Quanta Harris all of Peoria; one daughter: Mau’Naja Harris of Peoria; one special granddaughter whom she helped raise: Natalia Harris of Peoria; two brothers: Elbert (Shalonda) Nickerson Jr. and Marlon (Talia) Herron, both of Peoria; two sisters: Delana Herron of Indianapolis, IN and Sonia “Monique” Herron of Peoria, who was more like a daughter; special cousins: Erma Herron and Nay Nay Harris of Peoria; best friend: Tyesha Harris of Peoria; nineteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly Sharon was preceded in death by her father: Elbert Nickerson Sr.; bonus father: Marlon Jones. A Celebration of Life Service for Sharon will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Word of Faith Christian Center, 7116 N. Terra Vista Dr. Peoria, IL 61614, 10:00 a.m. with visitation commencing one hour prior at 9:00 a.m. Bishop Leroy Davis will host and Rev. Alvin Riley Sr, Pastor of Sovereign Grace M.B.C. will present the eulogy. Arrangements were prepared especially for the “Herron/Harris” family and professionally directed by T.W.
