Mrs. Antoinette Rodgers
May 20, 1964 - April 7, 2022
Antoinette Rodgers, 57, of Peoria, IL, transitioned from her earthly home into the eternal presence of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 7th, 2022, at her home. Antoinette, affectionally known as Net, was born on May 20, 1964, to John and Deloise (Russell) Rodgers. Net accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in her early years of life while attending church with her late grandmother, Catherine Rodgers. As an adult, Net was an active member of Bibleway Apostolic Church under the leadership of her uncle, Pastor Earnest Rodgers before later joining Pilgrim’s Progress (COGIC) under the leadership of her uncle, Pastor James Rodgers, where she served until her departure of this life. Although she was born with epilepsy, Net didn’t allow it or any other disability to keep her from doing what she loved. Net was passionate about everything she put her hands to do, and it was demonstrated through her works. Whether it was singing in the women’s choir, serving in pulpit hospitality, making Easter baskets for the youth, being part of the women’s conference planning committee, ushering, volunteering in the food pantry, or volunteering at the Peoria Area Blind Peoples Center working with the children, she did it all with love and enthusiasm. Most of all, Net enjoyed spending time with family and friends. If Net sat still long enough, you would likely find her doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved shopping and was an avid collector of dolls, which she called her babies. Net’s doll collection exceeded more than 500 dolls. Those who knew Antionette will remember her giving spirit and sense of humor. Her side smile and twinkle in her eye would tell you that you’re loved. Antionette is survived by her common law husband of 36 years, William Lobdell; her sisters, Linda (Roderick) Ross of Charlotte, NC, Marsha Rodgers of Peoria, IL, and Janice (Derrick) Parker of Dunlap, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Deloise Rodgers, her brother whom she adored, John Rodgers, Jr., and her beloved nephew Bobby Russell. A celebration of life service will be held at Pilgrim Progressing Pentecostal Church 3033 W Marquette St, Peoria, IL 61605, on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. Reverend James Rodgers, presiding. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. Online condolences and acknowledgments will be made at twparkschapel.com. Due to Covid-19, both mask and social distancing are mandated.
