Dr. Armosha A. Harris

November 12, 1970 - October 30, 2020

Dr. Armosha A. Harris,49, of Greenville, TX departed this life on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 5:38 a.m. at Greenville Gardens Nursing Home. She was the 8th child born on November 12, 1970 to Joe and Ollie (Walker) Sturdivant in Peoria, IL. She graduated from Peoria Manual Highschool than she attended Western University in Malcomb, IL where she received, her bachelor’s degree in business management. During this time, she traveled extensively. She made Chicago, IL her residence where she was ordained a Prophetess and Minister at Valley Kingdom Ministries. Armosha was a “Powerhouse” in the ministry” she touched lives everywhere she went. She later decided to go back to college receiving her Masters and Doctorate at Colorado Technical University. After her father’s death in 2010 she came back to Peoria making her mark working for the Southside Mission as Director of Career Training and Development. Armosha founded programs such as “Hospitality Training school” and “Second chance programs for individuals even those with felonies”. She helped young women who were displaced find new housing and empower themselves. Armosha became chapter President of “The Black Chamber of Commerce of Peoria”. In 2014 she met the love of her life Elwood Harris and married on August 5, 2016, he survives. In addition to her loving husband Elwood Harris she leaves to cherish her precious memories: Her mother: Ollie Sturdivant of Peoria, IL; two brothers: Nathan Sturdivant of Uganda, Africa; Timothy (Judith) Sturdivant of Elgin, IL; two sister: Mary Sturdivant and Deroita Welch both of Peoria; three stepchildren: Darlene Harris, Amanda Harris, and Matthew Harris all of Boston, MA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly. In addition to her Father Joe Sturdivant she was preceded in death by one brother: John Sturdivant; two sisters: Joyce Stukes and Wanda Welch. A Private Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. and a public visitation will be held two hours prior at 9:00 a.m. Bishop Joseph Johnson of Star of Hope Full Gospel will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery.
