Barbara E. Collins 81, of Peoria passed away at 7:26 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born December 07, 1934, in Peoria, IL., to the late Argutus Reynolds and Effie Faye Scott. Barbara was a member and mother of New Cornerstone Baptist Church. For 22 years, she served as the Culinary Director in various cafeterias at Bradley University.The relationships established with students and staff, have remained throughout the years. Barbara was an avid reader and cook who loved life. Most of all Barbara loved her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; four sons Michael (Lana) Vann, Mitchell (Princess) Vann both of Federal Way, WA., Michael Collins of East St. Louis, IL., and Edward Jackson of Peoria, IL., three daughters Stephanie Faulkner, Patrice Miller both of Peoria, and Sandra Vann-Dyson of Las Vegas, Nevada. one brother Ralph (Cheryl) Reynolds of Bowling Green, MO., three sisters Bonnie Kerr of Rock Island, IL., Elieen Cornish of Davenport, IA., and Audrey Hutt of Peoria, IL. 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren and a host of dear friends and family members whom will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 1 sister Charlotte McQuay and 1 grandchild. Evening visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 05, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel. A home-going celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 06, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at New Cornerstone Baptist Church with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Mark A. McConnell, Pastor. Barbara will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery. The family has entrusted T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel to handle the final arrangements.
