Birda “Bright Eyes” Irby, 76, passed away at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 4:39 pm. Birda was born on October 11, 1945, to Roxie and Earnest Trammell who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Manual High School’s Class of 1963. She married the love of her life, Otis Irby, who will cherish 55 years of memories. Together, they raised five children: Otis Irby Jr., Tesa Irby, Dion Irby, Lisa Irby and Myles Irby, all of Peoria, IL. She also leaves her remembrances to two sisters: Barbara Jean Tennon and Violet Tennon, both of Peoria, IL. Seven grandchildren: Shuntia Rutherford, Chenese Irby, Autumn Chaplin, Tadaija Irby, Ronnie Common, Evan Common and Janaysia Irby and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of Peoria, IL. It will forever share how much she loved them. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memories to a host of nieces & nephews. There was never a dull moment with Ms. Birda as she was always the heart of her family. She brought light to those she touched. She took care of everybody, if you needed her, she was always there. She spent most of her life being a devoted caregiver to Mr. & Mrs. McEldowney and their children. In addition to her parents, three sisters preceded Birda in death; Earnestine, Viola and Mary Trammell and one great-granddaughter, Jaliyah Edwards. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 am with Pastor Riley presiding. Visitation begins at 10:00am. In honor of Birda, the family is asking attendees to wear colors blue and black. Online condolences and acknowledgments will be made at twparkschapel.com.
