Ms. Corine Sutton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ms. Corine (Auntie) Sutton, 85, passed away on December 25, 2021, at River Crossing. She was born on August 12, 1936, in Drew, MS to the late Jack and Lena Miller. She was the oldest of three children. Corine accepted Christ at an early age and became a member at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Greenville, MS where she served gladly. Later, God chose a different journey and she moved to Peoria, IL, on March 17, 1992. She became part of Church of the Living God Temple #130 where she served until God called her home. She was a woman of great character, and she will be missed dearly. Even though she only had one child, she was a mother to many. Her heart was larger than her body. She had a desire to help everyone in need. She brought people together through her amazing cooking and making them feel welcome. Her presence was magical and watching her persevere against life’s hardship could give strength to the weakest person without complaints. She will be missed and there will never be a person like her. Thank God for allowing her to leave a legacy of love behind. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Willie Miller, sister Bobbie Johnson, and niece Katherine Johnson. She leaves to cherish her loving memories to grandson Darrius Miller, granddaughter Laquita Miller, a host of nieces & nephews, special nephew Bennie, a great nephew Termarrion Johnson, God sister Rose White, and God daughter Judy Porter of Peoria, IL. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10:00am at Church of Living God Temple #130. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
