Mrs Dorothy J Thompson-Early Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothy J. Thompson-Early, 74, of Peoria passed away at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 1, 1940, to the late Russell and Ethel Mae (Williams) Thompson. She married her soul-mate, Curtis Early, on July 9, 1991. He survives. Dorothy loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was adored and loved by her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and feeding any and every one. She was very outgoing and loved helping others. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Curtis Early of Peoria; two sons, Mikeren Turner Sr. of East Moline, Ill., and Steven (Alice) Thompson of Peoria; three daughters, Kathy (Morris) Brown-Howard, Carolyn Brown-Flores and Ethel Mae Turner, all of Peoria; four brothers, Willie Thompson of Peoria, James (Thelma) Coleman of Marianna, Ark., Theoplius (Theresa) Thompson of Peoria and Lovell (Velma) Mills of Dallas, Texas; 10 sisters, Viola (Will) Moore, Ophelia (James) Lowmack, Shirley (Jessie) Crump, Floretha (Robert) Spinks and Loretha (Henry) Jones, all of Peoria, and Lillie Ramsey, Irene Ramsey, Shirley Henderson Maclin, Essie Bracy and Evelyn Joseph, all of St. Louis, Mo.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who adored her and will miss her dearly. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, four children, one grandson, two brothers and one sister. A home-going celebration will be at 12 noon Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Rising Sun Christian Church, with visitation commencing one hour prior at 11 a.m. Pastor John Gibson will officiate. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements were made especially for Dorothy's family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
