Hamp Adkinson, 64, departed this life on April 13, 2022, at OSF Medical Center. He was born to Ernest Atkinson, Sr. and Geneva Jones on April 5, 1958, in Chicago, IL. Hamp grew up on the Westside of Chicago. He was a God-fearing man who loved reading his Bible and sharing spiritual conferencing by phone. He was a dedicated & faithful Chicago Sports fan. He was a loving man to everyone he was around. Hamp leaves to cherish his most precious memories to his loving wife Beatrice Adkinson and daughter Tiffany (Jack) Camp, both of Peoria, IL. Three grandkids: Perron Payton, Ta’Briyah Davis, and Traverreon Harris. Three great-grandchildren: Perreon Payton Jr. & Terreon Payton. Five Sisters: Shirley Rainey, Carolyn (Robert) Toney, Portia Adkinson, Amazon Adkinson, and Margie Adkinson. Five brothers: Curtis Chavis, Ernest Charles Jr., Daniel (Kimberly) Adkinson, Mitchell (Shirly) Adkinson, and Michael Adkinson. He also leaves his remembrances to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Hamp was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Atkinson Sr., two brothers: Curtis Chavis & Kevin Adkinson, Grandmother Amazon Elliott, and Grandfather Hamp Chavis. Celebration of Life will be held at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11:00 am. Visitation begins at 10:00am. Intermittence will be held privately.
