Lillie R. Taylor, 78, of Peoria passed away peaceful at 5:50 p.m. Friday, May, 9, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Richard Owen Hospice home. She was born January 31, 1936, in Greenville, Ms. to the late David Page Sr. and Rebecca Banks. She was married the late Hampton Taylor for over 50 years. Lillie loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was known to all as simply “Sis”. She enjoyed just driving around town. Lillie was a very strong person and the head of the family that kept things in order. She retired from the State of Illinois after 25 years of employment. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, one son Charles E (Mary Lou) Taylor, five daughters, Margret Page, Deorah Williams, Rebecca Bell, Sarah Taylor and Anita Taylor, goddaughter Hattie Mae Shelton and special niece Bessie Spencer all of Peoria.; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends whom loved and will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hampton Taylor, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Church of the Living God #130, 2815 W. Lake Ave, Peoria, Ill., with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10 a.m. The Bishop Leroy Smith will officiate. Lillie will be laid to rest at Swan Lake Cemetery 4601 W War Memorial Dr. Peoria. A special thank you to the staff of OSF Saint Francis Hospice Home for the love and care they provide to Ms. Lillie.
