Malcolm Jackson, 75 of Peoria passed away on Thursday March 24, 2016 at Unity Point Proctor Hospital at 11:14 a.m. He was born on March 31, 1940 in Drew, Ms. to Albert Jackson and Maggie E. Liston (Jackson) Malcolm was very active in church; he was a deacon and musician. He worked as a custodian at Manual High School and a handy man. Malcolm loved to read, loved sports and very family oriented. He absolutely loved the word of God. He leaves to celebrate his life: his wife Verdia Jackson, of Peoria, four sons Malcolm (Patricia) Jackson of Conroe TX, Darren (Shanna) Jackson of Jacksonville FL, Eric (Tonia) Jackson of Beaumont, TX, and Marcus (Brooke) Jackson of New Berlin, Wis., two daughters: Gloria L. Jackson and Valerie E. Jackson of Edgewater Park, NJ. Four brothers Eddie Jackson, Joe Jackson, John (Barbara) Jackson and Albert (Karen) Jackson all of Peoria, Il. Four sisters; Mamie Jackson, Emily Jackson, Maggie Jackson, Geraldine Lindsay all of Peoria, IL, four grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and his first wife Janice Jackson, two sisters, two brothers and his grandparents. Services will be held on Friday April 1, 2016 at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ at 11:00a.m, with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10:00a.m. Minister Henry Bolden will officiate.
