Ms. Marla L. Parker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marla Leann Parker, 42, departed this life at her home on July 19, 2022, at 3:47 p.m. Marla was born in Peoria, IL on June 7, 1980, to George Shipp Sr. and Marinda Rutherford. Both survive. Marla was a dedicated member and avid volunteer at Morning Glory Community Church with Pastor Marlon Young as her covering. Marla enjoyed reading, watching various sports, but most of all spending time with her family. She leaves her loving memories to her two children: Ma’Neika Ward and Arthur Parker Jr. (“AJ”), both of Peoria. Former spouse: Arthur Parker. Two siblings: Melanie Blakes, of Peoria, and George Shipp Jr., of Effingham, IL. She also leaves her remembrances to a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. She will be truly missed. She will also be reunited with her daughter, Artiana Faith Parker, who went to be with the Lord as an infant. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2022, at Morning Glory Community Church with visitation commencing at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Marlon Young will officiate and Pastor Harvey Burnett will deliver the eulogy. Marla will be laid to rest at the Historic Springdale Cemetery at a private interment. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to be made to Busey Bank for college expenses for Ma'Neika and AJ.
