Velma Cooper, 73, of Peoria passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born on July 20, 1940, in Isola, MS to the late Peter Wade and Mary Cooper. Velma was a faithful Baptist who loved doing cross word puzzles, sewing, watching baseball, and most of all cooking for her family. Velma leaves behind to continue in her legacy; three sons: Jessie (Shewonn Evans) Wade, Joseph Wade, and William Wade, one daughter; Betty (Timothy) Davis all of Peoria., one sister; Mary Johnson of Chicago, IL., one brother; Lee (Ollie Mae) Johnson of Chicago, IL., 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom loved and will miss her dearly. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Homegoing services will be held Saturday March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel located at 201 N. Mac Arthur Hwy Peoria 61605. Rev. Arthur Williams Sr. will be officiating. Interment will be at Springdale Cemetery 3014 N Prospect Rd, Peoria.
