Mr. Alan "Bruce" Waithe

Alan Bruce Waithe, 74, of Peoria, IL departed this life Saturday, September 14, 2024, at his residence. Bruce was born on September 20, 1949, in Centralia, IL to the late Dorothy Waithe, she precedes him in death. Bruce served as a Master Sargent in the Air National Guard where he specialized in communications. After his military service, he was employed by Caterpillar as a production painter where he worked for many years and later retired in 2017. He later decided to go back to work to occupy his time at Accolade Healthcare of Peoria working part-time. Bruce was a devoted, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed sitting outside on summer days with his grandchildren and friends laughing and joking. He was a huge sports fan his favorite teams were the Golden State Warriors, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Chicago Bears. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Waithe; grandmother: Lillian Taylor; one sister: Marzelle Waithe; two great-grandchildren Brynlee Waithe and Jay ’Mar Hall. Bruce leaves to cherish his precious memories of his loving wife Ora “Peaches” Bennett-Waithe of Peoria, IL; One son: Derek (Tyronza) Waithe of Mount Vernon, IL; two daughters: La Tisha Bennett and Leia Bennett both of Peoria, IL; three sisters: Patricia (Lewis) Garrett of Centralia, IL, Regina Bryant of Peoria, IL, Tami (Les) Johnson of Peoria, IL; two brothers: Darryl Waithe of Missouri City, Texas and Sydney Waithe of Las Vegas, Nevada; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. A Memorial service in honor of Alan will be held at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Pastor Terry Holley will present the Eulogy.
