Mr. Andrew M. Scott

Andrew M. Scott, 83, of Peoria, IL, passed away on April 11, 2025, surrounded by family and friends at Carle Health Hospital. Born on February 3, 1943, in West Memphis, Arkansas, Andrew was the son of Benjamin and Rosiedale Scott. Andrew attended Wonder High School in West Memphis before relocating to Peoria in 1965, where he began a long and dedicated career at Caterpillar. After 31 years of service, he retired with pride. Andre married Annie Bell Scott in 1990, she precedes him. Andrew accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of Holy Temple Church in Peoria. A man of many talents and interests, Andrew enjoyed working alongside his brother in heating and cooling, as well as pursuing hobbies like videography, carpet cleaning, singing, and DJing. Known for his sense of humor, he always had a joke ready. He loved browsing garage sales, collecting items as the neighborhood “junkman,” and lending a hand wherever he could. Andrew also enjoyed long walks, listening to Sam Cooke, and watching Tyler Perry shows and movies. A lifelong Bulls fan, his favorite basketball player was Michael Jordan, and his favorite color was blue. Andrew is survived by his children: Donna Scott of Peoria, Andre Lamont Scott of Indianapolis, IN and, Lavell (Scott) Hamilton of Peoria, Demetra Alexander, Brenda Hill, Betty (Steve) Millard, Antonia Scott, and Shamika Scott, all of Peoria, Kimyetta Scott of Indianapolis, IN, and Jesus Scott of Chicago, IL; one sister: Modestine Williams of Peoria; 49 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew: Michael (Lisa) Scott; a host of foster children he lovingly cared for over the years; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Andrew was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, three of his children: Danielle Alexander, Barbara Hamilton, and Tommie Hamilton; one grandchild: Ronald Lewis; one great-grandchild: Chace Knight; three sisters: Fairy L. Easly, Johnnie Mae Thomas, and Cleona Parker; three brothers: James Scott, Robert Scott, and Benjamin Scott. Andrew, your absence leaves a deep void. We will dearly miss your bright spirit, your kindness, your welcoming smile, and your steady presence. You have earned your rest, and your memory will live on in our hearts. A Celebration of Life Service for, Andrew Scott will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Word of Faith Christian Church (7116 N Terra Vista Dr. Peoria, IL 61614) at 11:00 a.m. with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Leroy Davis will host, and Pastor Greg Washington will be present the Eulogy.
