Mr. Cleophus J. "BO" Bennett

Cleophus Jerome Bennett, known to all as “Bo”, 50, of Peoria departed this life on Thursday, April 09, 2026, at his residence. He was born on August 23, 1975, to James Williams and Laverne (Rose) Williams in Shelby, MS. Bo was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend—titles that speak to his life and legacy. Yet, one of his greatest gifts was his role as a mentor to many young men, offering guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support. He took immense pride in the relationships he built, both within his family and throughout his community. Many remember him for his generosity of spirit, his ability to uplift others, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. From his vibrant fashion sense to his great taste in cars, Bo personified the true definition of a “go-getter.” He carried himself with confidence, determination, and a drive to live life on his own terms. Whether he was stepping out in style or pulling up in something that turned heads, Bo made a statement without ever saying a word. His presence was bold, his energy was unmatched, and his ambition inspired those around him. Even in his final days, Bo remained nothing short of unforgettable. From his confident walk to his charismatic smile, he carried a presence that drew people in. Known and loved from Chicago to Peoria to Mississippi, Bo lived life boldly and unapologetically, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Bo leaves to cherish his precious memories to his wife: Contrina Williams of Peoria; three sons: Antonio Williams of Bloomington, IL, Jayden Bennett, and Chance Bennett both of Peoria; five daughters: Diamond Bennett of Atlanta, GA, Savonna Bennett, Keambra Nunn, Neionna Nunn, and Mikka Diggins all of Peoria; three brothers: James Williams of Chicago. IL, Raphel Thomas and James Haywood of Rosedale, MS; four sisters: Kimberly Williams, Mitchie “Mesha" Williams, Ashley Terrell, and Alexus Terrell all of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. Bo was preceded in death by his mother: Laverne Williams; two sisters: Porscha Williams and Jasmine Williams; Maternal Grandmother: Minnie Lee Rose; one aunt: Shelia Shepard; one brother: Cadhal Tillman A Celebration of Life Service for Bo will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church (1505 W. Martin Street Peoria, IL 61605) at 3:00 p.m. with visitation commencing one hour prior at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Alvin Riley, Pastor will host, Minister Ernest Willingham will officiate, and Evangelist Calvin Keith Rose will present the eulogy.
