Jewell M Lacy

Jewell M. Lacy, 72, of Peoria passed away on Saturday June 9, 2018 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital at 11:14p.m.. Jewel was born August 06, 1945 in Springfield, Il to Omer and Ada Alberta (Washington) Moore. Jewell enjoyed bowling, and traveling. She attended Roosevelt school and graduated from Manual High school and continued on to college, where she graduated from Brown Business School. She moved to Philadelphia PA. for a while and then later moved back to Peoria to care for her ill mother. She met and married Edmond Lacy at that time. Jewell retired from Cilco now known as Ameren after many years. Her biggest joy was being an Elks Member of Nora Field Taylor Temple # 270. Improved Benevolent Protective Order Elks of the World. Jewell’s accomplishments as an Elks member were to join Nora Field Taylor Temple #270. She served as Daughter Ruler, Recording Secretary and Assistant Daughter Ruler. Jewell belonged to the Nell M Roberts past Daughter Ruler Council. Also for IL Wisconsin State Association she was Chairman of Social Session and President of past Grand Daughter Ruler circle where she worked with act of kindness. On the National Level she was a district Deputy of the Central District, Chairman of the National Act of Kindness. Jewell has brought in many past Grand Daughter Ruler through the act of Kindness Department. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one son: Edmond M Lacy Jr of Peoria; three daughters: Michelle (Brandyn) Cagle, Angela (Gg) Branscumb, and Sheronda Lacy all of Peoria; three brothers: Omer (Dorothy) M Moore Jr and Joseph E. (Tessie) Moore both or Peoria and Benjamin A. (Jackie) Moore of Philadelphia, PA., eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. Addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters Services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Mt. Zion M.B. Church at 11:00a.m. with visitation commencing one hour prior. Rev. Alphonso Lyons will officiate. Interment will take place at Springdale Cemetery.
