Ms. Michelle Johnson

Michelle Nicole Johnson, 49, of Peoria, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at her residence. Michelle was born on January 6, 1976, in Peoria, Illinois, to Arthur and Mary Johnson. Michelle's last workplace was Peoria Public Schools District 150, where she worked as a Teacher Aide and a Cafeteria worker, helping to prepare and serve food. She also worked at The Loft of East Peoria as a Cook. Michelle graduated from Manual High School in 1994. Michelle was a caring and loving person who enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends, sharing many laughs. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend to many, and she wore many hats in her life. Michelle loved spending time doing various activities with her grandchildren, such as taking them to the park, the pool, and out to eat. Michelle is survived by her significant other, Derek "Turtle" Crooks; her mother: Mary Johnson; four daughters: LaCorsha Drummond, Talecia Crawford, Kariya Pinkney, and Serenity Pinkney, all of Peoria, IL; two sons: Cori Drummond Jr. and Lontarius Harris; eight grandsons: Cordarius Drummond, Jamere Herron, Kyric McWilliams Jr., My'Kell Smith Jr., Jaivondrick Foster, Cortland Drummond, Harlem Cameron, and Kelceion Smith, all of Peoria, IL; three brothers: Christopher and Arthur Johnson of Peoria, IL, and Deandre Johnson of Edwardsville, IL; one sister: Arnisha Harris of Peoria, IL. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Mary Johnson; her father: Arthur Johnson Sr.; her maternal grandparents: Lenora and Alfred Herron Sr.; and her paternal grandmother, Mary Gaston. Michelle’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Sovereign Grace M.B.C at 1:00 p.m. with visitation commencing at 12:00 p.m. Reverend Alvin Riley Sr. Pastor will officiate. Michelle will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements were made especially for the “Johnson” family and professionally directed by T.W.
